Founded in 1964, the club is one of the oldest continually running flying clubs in Ontario, and one of the few that offers its members a float equipped aircraft. The club is registered as a not-for-profit corporation and is incorporated in the province of Ontario, limiting liability and keeping membership transfers and fees tax free. The mandate of the club is to provide its members convenient means for private flying in a cost efficient manner. Since 1979, the club has owned a 1978 Cessna 172N on straight floats. The plane is based at Caesarea, on Lake Scugog, 90 kilometers north-east of Toronto.
